Project Engineer

Job Description

  • 1. Support Project Manager in creation of Customer BOQ’s for submission.
  • 2. Follow-up with project coordinator to get PO’s released from Customer for the region.
  • 3. Manage Build Suppliers/Partners to accomplish BAU Daily build activities/milestones
  • 4. Work with build vendors to plan the site schedule
  • 5. Create and manage 21 day plan along with Implementation manager
  • 6. Execute the deployment checklist and ensure dependencies are closed prior to MW deployment
  • 7. Ensure Build vendors follow 21 day plan strictly and manage any slippages in schedule and exceptions
  • 8. Daily/Weekly/Monthly LBL reviews with build suppliers along with Implementation manager to review schedule and AOB
  • 9. Review build contractor quotes and work with project coordinator to raise PO’s
  • 10. Work with Project Coordinator to ensure Permit to work, Change Requests, Materials, access are in place
  • 11. Work with suppliers to ensure materials are received and allocated to specific links for the deployment
  • 12. Ensure stock level checks are undertaken by suppliers on monthly basis to ensure there are no shortage of materials
  • 13. Visit supplier warehouse to review EHS/QA practices followed in handling equipment & delivery to site
  • 14. Monitor all aspects of build supplier activities and milestones to ensure there are no slippages
  • 15. Review contractor Safe work method statements, Job Safety Assessments for every site prior to commencement of works
  • 16. Ensure suppliers follow outage times, process, policies strictly without violating compliance
  • 17. Conduct monthly target site inspections to review supplier EHS/Quality Assurances practices onsite
  • 18. Work with supplier to complete field acceptance immediately after build via inSide mobile and ensure milestones are signed off
  • 19. Drive project coordinator to upload acceptance documentation to customer system and sign off milestone
  • 20. Report to Implementation manager on closure of acceptance documentation to sign off and attain invoice

Job Requirements

  • a) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • b) Minimum 10 years of Experience in Microwave Delivery, Project Management in Telecom space and Supplier Management
  • c) The ability to work effectively across all levels of the organisation
  • d) A customer focused approach with a ‘can-do attitude’
  • e) High levels of self-motivation and a positive attitude
  • f) A proven ability to influence without authority
  • g) Good Understanding of Australian Site Acquisition and Environmental Design Principles
  • h) A superior understanding of WHS policies and procedures
  • i) Ability to conduct Site Audits from EHS & QA perspective
  • j) A superior understanding of Environmental Management Systems and the interpretation of Environmental Management Plans.
  • k) Knowledge of the Network architecture and the various service delivery methods used
